The analysis and testing centre is established basing on the analysis centre of BRIRE and was authorized as the National Rare Earth Products Import and Export Commodity Inspection Laboratory in 1987 conducting the inspecting and identification of rare earth minerals, alloys, metals, compounds and new materials. It has served for BRIRE, rare earth import and export companies and trade companies for over 20 years and undertaken the drafts of many national rare earth analysis methods and the preparation of analysis reference samples.
　　The analysis centre possesses large advanced analyzing equipments including Inductively Coupling Plasma Emission Spectrometer (American IRIS Ad.), Inductively Coupling Plasma Mass Spectrometer (American PERKIN-ELMER ELAN 5000),Atomic Absorption Emission Spectrometer(American PERKIN-ELMER P-E3030,AAanlyst 200),Infrared Carbon and Sulfur Analyzer( American LECO CS-400),Infrared Oxygen and Nitrogen Analyzer (Japanese HORIBA EMGA-2200),Anion Chromatograph (American DX-120).Now the center has 39 working staff including 4 senior engineers,12 engineers and 6 assistant engineers.
　　 Basing on the regulation of ISO/IEC 17025：1999(E) "Requirement on Testing and Alibration Laboratory " and combining the actual situation of the centre, it drew the "Quality Manual".
　　 From 2002, the analysis centre passed several analyzing quality appraisals of the compositions of   lanthanum oxide, stainless steel and cast iron.
